ECO Roadshow 2013

2013 marks the birth of the ECO Roadshow –

Grand County Colorado’s own Sustainability Fair. Infinite West will be collaborating with Cooper Creek Square to bring you live entertainment, sustainability education, puppet shows for the kids, and other fun activities.

The ECO Roadshow is a collaborative sustainability event, bringing environmentally conscious businesses and non-profits together with the public for the purpose of education for all ages. The event is being held in conjunction with a Solshine Music Festival weekend and is designed to promote a Greener Grand County.

11-1 Rocky Mountain Puppet Show

These puppet characters by ventriloquist Meghan Casey come to life! The show promises to be a magical and totally realistic interaction between Meghan and her characters. Expect to feel good and laugh a lot. This puppet show will feature an ecological and planet-friendly theme.

Infinite West is coordinating educational booths & vendors, with the intention of raising awareness on sustainability issues & strategies, as well as promoting Green Business in Grand County. We will draw from local resources, as well as bringing in outside technologies and advocates to show in the event.

Saturday, September 25 – 1st Annual Grand Reconomics Juried Show and Sale of Recycled Goods

Grand County Business Economic Development Association has enthusiastically formed the Grand ReConomics initiative. Grand ReConomics is committed to finding uses for recycle and salvaged resources while promoting the two counties trades people, craftspeople and artistic talents. These talents creatively transform hidden resources into works of art and useful products for the home, office and life.

The purpose of the Grand ReConomics Show and Sale Saturday, September 25 is to exhibit, promote and offer for sale original works that reflect excellence in design and technique using recycled material and Colorado pine beetle killed wood. The goal is to provide a venue for high quality arts and crafts to be displayed and sold as well as to promoting the use of recycled and Colorado pine beetle killed wood products.

The public will be encouraged to vote for “Best In Show.” Jurors will be professional craftspeople, architects, builders, and artists. Jurors will use a point system to evaluate the work on craftsmanship, creativity (according to the category), and appropriateness to the Grand ReConomics Juried Show and Sale.

Artists and Craftspeople may apply in the following categories

• Artistic
• Small Functional
• Décor
• Furniture
• Large Functional
• Finishes
• Unusual use of material

Work Criteria & Restrictions:
• Only one artist or craft artisan per application. Artist partnership applicants are permitted; no more than two artist partners per application, and both artists must work on the same completed products.
• All work must be original and the work of the exhibitor(s).
• All work must be created/constructed in greater North Park, CO. Including Jackson, Grand, and Routt counties.
• All work must include at least 85% recycled material and Colorado pine beetle killed wood.

Judging/Prizes:
Participants will submit one item for judging in their selected category. Decisions are final. The general public will choose a “Best of Show” award winner. Voting will occur during the show/sale event. Category winners in the 2010 show will receive $XXX cash prize and a certificate.

Application Process:
Please include a brief description of your work and/or your technique in the space provided with the application form. To apply, complete and return a signed application form (see web site) and a check or money order for the non-refundable $25.00 ($US) application fee made out to BEDA for the Grand ReConomics Sale and Show by March 15, 2010 in office deadline. Participants will be notified by DATE and the participant list will be on the BEDA website.

Space Assignments:
Spaces in the show will be assigned on a first come, first served status.
